As part of future proofing this premium grade office building the client mandated BIM from 2006 and engaged BIM Consulting to develop a strategy for implementation. BIM was used for a wide range of analysis in order to achieve the project’s six star Green Star rating. As construction commenced BIM Consulting adopted the approach of planning for success and used staff secondment and training strategies to ensure that the skills gap and limited capability of the industry at that time did not impact on BIM delivery. The handover model, used as a platform for Facilities Management and the Building Management Systems, combines the inputs from all 32 trades and disciplines on the project.
