Australian National University, Canberra
BIM Consulting was been engaged by the Australian National University (ANU) to develop a campus-wide 3D Model across 358 acres (1.45 km2) for self-assessment and for negotiation with the National Capital Authority (NCA) regarding future development within the campus. This required the consolidation of all available 3D, 2D and GiS Data into the one BIM model from file formats ranging from Sketch Up, DWG, GiS and Excel schedules for all trees in a landscape context. The model provides a platform for accountability, governance and audit in support of communication and negotiation with stakeholders for future development and funding.
The ANU campus encompasses seven teaching and research colleges, in addition to several national institutes, and currently enrols 10,359 undergraduate, 9674 postgraduate students and employs 3958 staff.
