Sydney Adventist Hospital
BIM Consulting were engaged to provide BIM consultancy and BIM Management for the upgrade to this existing private health precinct. BIM consultancy was provided to support the development of a multi-purpose community centre, the systematic upgrade of 12 floors of private wards, the delivery of a new 5 story medical centre and the provision of 150 new car spaces.
BIM provided the collaborative platform to enable uninterrupted hospital operations throughout the redevelopment. It enabled all upgrade works to the existing buildings to be completed in and around a working hospital. This was of particular value to all mission critical hospital services which had to be maintained at all times to ensure patient safety.
BIM also provided key benefits during the construction phase enabling early-contractor involvement, enabling transparency and visibility ahead of work on-site. The collaborative culture instilled by BIM integrating Client, Project Management, Consultant and Hospital Staff during the redevelopment, is held up publicly by the client as a major contributing factor to this project's success. Data retained within the model is on hand for future development and linking to the hospital’s internal FM and Operational system.
